Wildlife Village Blata: A Revolutionary Research Center for Coexistence with Nature

Project Holder: Be Happy Work and Travel, association with roots in Zagreb, Novi Sad, and London

1. Introduction: Nestled in the heart of Lika’s Blata village, in the municipality of Saborsko and close to the breathtaking Plitvice Lakes, Wildlife Village Blata is an innovative project designed to provide a unique, immersive experience in nature for those seeking respite from the digital demands and stress of everyday life. This transformative center aims to reconnect people with nature while providing mental and physical rejuvenation.

2. Project Description: The center will feature several theme-designed rooms, each offering a unique experience. There’s the Red Room (Kozara), Blue Room (Jadran), Green Room (Plitvice), and Gray Room (NGO Friends)—each furnished with four military-style beds, with no access to electricity, and lit by the soft glow of kerosene lamps. In keeping with the natural, rustic aesthetic, a wellness center with a military vibe will also be constructed, alongside bathrooms strategically located in the wildlife area. The center will also house workshop rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cafeteria.

Participants will be encouraged to engage with nature through a range of weekend workshops and training sessions, including wood chopping, cooking shared meals, observing local wildlife via drones, and participating in other outdoor challenges. By removing digital distractions, the center promotes a hands-on approach to learning and mindfulness.

3. Project Goals: The core mission of Wildlife Village Blata is to liberate participants from mobile phone dependence, offering them meaningful activities that facilitate true relaxation and regeneration. The center is scheduled to open by April 15, 2025, with an initial investment of €110,000 already allocated for land, building, and facility renovations. To advance into the second phase of development, the center is seeking a partner interested in investing €200,000 to complete the research center, ensuring it becomes a leading destination for nature immersion and digital detox.

4. Conclusion: The center will serve as a sanctuary for both men and women who wish to escape urban noise, relieve stress, and enjoy a weekend filled with shared moments of peace, introspection, and adventure. By blending nature immersion with therapeutic activities, Wildlife Village Blata aims to become a haven for individuals looking to reset, recharge, and reconnect with the world around them.
